Resumen: A well-planned program of health instruction is the direct responsibility of the health teacher, who, in most elementary schools, is the classroom teacher. School health services and the concept of a healthy school environment are also vital aspects of the total school health program. With a basic knowledge of the function of health services and a healthy school environment, along with planning and coordination within the school community, a relevant, meaningful program can result. In essence, the total school atmosphere can be used as a laboratory to enhance the school health program.
