창덕궁은 우리나라를 대표하는 문화재 중 하나로서, 매년 많은 외국인 관광객들이 자주 찾는 궁궐이다. 이처럼 국제적으로 잘 알려진 창덕궁의 아름다움을 더욱 쉽고 친절하게, 현장감을 더하고자 창덕궁 문화재 해설팀이 국제 공용어인 영어로 설명하고 있다. 한글판, 일어판과 마찬가지로 사진작가 배병우가 20여 년 촬영한 작품들이 함께 수록되어 있다. 창덕궁을 찾는 영어권 관광객들이 많았지만 그 동안에는 공식 영어 해설서가 없었다. 이 책은 창덕궁을 영어권 관광객들에게 본격적으로 알리는 첫번째 책이며, 영어권 관광객들에게 창덕궁을 안내하는 관광 가이드 분들에게는 교과서이자 지침서 역할도 하게 될 것이다.

El Palacio de Changdeokgung es uno de los bienes culturales representativos de Corea, y es un palacio frecuentado por muchos turistas extranjeros cada año. Para que la belleza de Changdeokgung, conocida internacionalmente, sea más fácil, amable y realista, el equipo de comentarios del Patrimonio Cultural de Changdeokgung está explicando en inglés, el idioma oficial internacional. Como en las versiones coreana y japonesa, se incluyen las fotos tomadas por el fotógrafo Bae Byung-woo en los últimos 20 años. Había muchos turistas de habla inglesa que visitaban Changdeokgung, pero no había ningún comentario oficial en inglés durante ese tiempo. Este libro es el primero que presenta el palacio de Changdeokgung a los turistas de habla inglesa.
