This volume presents the proceedings of the Colloque International d'Algèbre et Théorie des Nombres held at the Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah University, Fez, Morocco, where it was hosted partly by the Fes-Saiss Faculty of Sciences and Technology and partly by the Dhar El Mahraz Faculty of Sciences. The organizing committee comprised A. El Hallaoui and M. Saghi, Deans of the Fés-Saiss Faculty of Sciences and Technology and of the Dhar El Mahraz Faculty of Sciences, respectively, M. Boulagouaz (Fes-Saiss), and S. Remmal (Dhar El Mahraz). Assistance was provided by J.-P. Tignol (Université Catholique de Louvain, Louvain-la-Neuve) on scientific aspects.

This conference fits into the framework of the meetings organized by the Moroccan university system to foster scientific exchanges between national and international teams. A large segment of the research in algebra and number theory done in Morocco was represented at the meeting. The number and quality of the participants from abroad bears witness to its influence. We know that the insights provided through the various sessions and informal discussions have stimulated new collaboration and fruitful research in various directions.

The articles in these proceedings reflect the diverse topics considered at the conference and include a substantial proportion of invited papers. They are listed simply in alphabetical order by author. All have been referred.
